Section 6. Cookie Notice

(a)  What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small data files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Website owners widely use cookies to make their Platform work (or to work more efficiently) and provide reporting information.

We refer to cookies we created as “SpoofCard Cookies” and those created by parties other than us as “third-party cookies.” Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the Platform (for example, advertising, interactive content, and analytics). The parties that provide these third-party cookies can recognize your computer both when it visits the website in question and when it visits certain other platforms.

In addition to the party that sets the cookie, the duration of the cookie’s retention in your browser can help define its purpose. “Session Cookies” are cookies stored on your device for the duration of your current browser session. When you close your browser, Session Cookies are cleared. “Persistent Cookies” are stored either until you manually delete them or your browser deletes them based on the duration set within the Persistent Cookie file.

(b)  Why We Use Cookies

We use both SpoofCard Cookies and third-party cookies for several reasons, which can be delineated into broad categories as follows:

  • Essential cookies are strictly necessary to provide you with the Platform and to use the features, such as access to secure, member-only, and private areas. Refusal of these cookies may impact website functionality.
  • Performance/Functionality cookies are used to enhance the performance or functionality of the Platform, but are non-essential. Without these cookies, however, certain functionality may become unavailable.
  • Analytics/Customization cookies collect information in aggregate form either (1) to help us understand how the Platform is being used or how effective marketing campaigns are, or (2) to help us customize the Platform for you; and
  • Social Networkingcookies enable you to share pages and content you find interesting throughout the Platform through third-party social networking or other Platform, including, potentially, for advertising purposes related to social networking.

(c)  How to Control the Use of Cookies

Electronic devices and software applications on these devices may offer you tools to opt out of or block advertisements on the device or in specific applications. Consult the help documentation and settings specific to your devices and applications to learn more about your options. You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time for any cookies or other tracking technologies we use by deleting them from your device. Should you remove or block cookies, some functionality of the Platform may become unavailable or unreliable.

In addition, most advertising networks offer a way to opt out of targeted advertising. If you would like to find out more information, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or http://www.youronlinechoices.com.

(d) Other Tracking Technologies

In addition to the cookies listed above, we have also implemented the following tracking technologies within certain parts of the Platform.

  • Page Tags/Web Beacons are used to track users as they navigate the Platform to better understand the performance of the Platform and measure the performance of online advertising. For example, web beacons track whether an email sent through the Platform was delivered and opened, and whether links within the email were clicked. This information is collected to provide email campaign performance information and measure the performance of email messages they send, and is processed according to this Privacy Policy; and
  • Local and Session Storage to temporarily store information to improve the user experience while interacting with the website.

(e) Cookies and CCPA

Information collected and stored by cookies and other tracking technologies will often meet the definition of personal information in the California Consumer Privacy Protection Act (“CCPA”). The CCPA defines “personal information” as “information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular California resident or household.” Personal information collected by the cookies and related technologies described may include information about your browsing behavior on the Platform or other platforms and information you provide via forms or single fields on the Platform. This personal information will be used only as described by this Cookie Notice and Privacy Policy. See Section 9 (California Privacy Notice) for information pertaining to California residents.

We strongly advise you to review every site’s privacy policy. Any personal information collected on other platforms and services is subject to the privacy policy and practices of the third-party providing such website or service, not this Privacy Policy. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for any third-party Platform or services’ content, privacy policies, or practices.

Social Media Links

We may give you the option on the Platform to share with others on social media platforms, such as Facebook (“Social Media Links”). When you share using Social Media Links, the privacy practices of the social media platform control who has access to your information and how the applicable platform treats it. (b) Analytics Technologies

We may use Google Analytics, Firebase, or other similar technologies (the “Analytics Technologies”) to collect and process certain information about you and your use of the Platform. The information collected by Analytics Technologies is statistical data and does not include PII, and we do not maintain it or associate it with PII we collect in other ways or receive from third parties.

Google collects data about how users interact with the Platform, including pages visited, time spent on the site, referral sources, and engagement metrics. This data helps us analyze website performance and improve user experience.

Google may also use the collected data to provide personalized, context-specific ads through its advertising services. If Google Analytics Remarketing is enabled, visitor activity may be used to retarget ads on other platforms.

  • Firebase

Firebase is Google’s all-in-one platform for building mobile and web apps. It offers a broad set of tools and services that let developers create, run, and grow applications fast without having to build or maintain much of their own backend. As a Backend as a Service, it handles core server-side functions so developers can concentrate on the frontend and the user experience. Learn more at Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy/embedded?hl=en-US).

Data Collected by Google Includes:

  • User Behavior: To understand which pages are visited, how much time is spent on each page, and session duration
  • Engagement Metrics: For example, clicks, scrolling activity, and form submissions
  • Traffic Sources: For example, referrals from search engines, social media, ads, or direct visits

  • _gat: To analyze throttle request rate: 1 minute

(c) Remarketing

We may use third-party service providers such as Google Ads, Facebook, Vibe, Pinterest, and Apple Search Ads to advertise on third-party platforms to you after you visit the Platform. We use cookies from our third-party vendors to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on your past visits to the Platform. You should have the ability to opt-out of such marketing at the ad level. Please look for options on the ads themselves or visit the respective ad service’s website for more information.

See Section 6 (Cookie Notice) for more information about cookies.

If you do not want your information collected by Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. To opt out of Google Analytics, visit the Google Analytics opt-out page (located at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) and install the add-on for your browser. For more details, visit the “Google Analytics Opt out Browser Add-on” page (found at https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/181881?hl=en).
