If you’re in education, September means back to school. Back to teaching in a classroom or managing a whole district, back to parent-teacher night, state-wide conferences, and student reviews. With the advancement of technology, parents now have access to their children’s teachers on a regular basis. Whether through email or phone, teachers now have to manage parent relationships as much as they do students and colleagues.

The line separating working and personal life has become so blurred that some people don’t think twice about contacting someone after work hours, regardless of profession. The notion is, “Well, everyone has their phone on them at all times, so what’s the big deal?” While this may be true, it does not mean we should be available 24/7 for everyone and anyone.

SpoofCard is a great tool to have in one’s arsenal, especially if you are in education. The app allows you to make outbound calls and send text messages through a virtual phone number that lives directly in your personal cell phone. This gives teachers an opportunity to reclaim control over who has access to them outside of the classroom. If a parent asks for a phone call, simply dial them through SpoofCard using a number with your area code. You can even record the call or skip straight to voicemail if you’d rather leave a message.

Teachers and many other professions should be allowed to choose who has access to them outside of working hours. SpoofCard helps provide the necessary tools to reclaim your personal life during the school year.
